It's extremely important to get your pet used to taking a bath. If you start when they're very young, they won't be afraid of the bath.
As with human infants, if you prepare them properly, the dog will love taking baths. They're going to look forward to this opportunity just as we humans do!
A good bathing technique is essential for keeping your Shih Tzu hair in good shape and keeping skin problems to a minimum. A lot of Shih Tzu owners say they're having skin problems.
This is a problem I have not encountered a lot in my existence with my Shih Tzu. In some bloodlines, though, it does happen more. Follow the instructions in this video and keep a nice smell and clean Shih Tzu in your presence at all times, and you should have no problem.

Gather all the necessary items before you start bathing your Shih Tzu. This is always handier than having to run here and collect your supplies and tools from there once the process starts.
Be prepared to get splashed in the bath as your Shih Tzu grows older. Either wear specially made grooming aprons for this function or wrap a large towel around you.
Yet giving your Shih Tzu a bath should be an enjoyable task, one that you should both enjoy. It's a special time with your pet that serves as a bond between you two. It is just a different way to let your pet know how much you adore her!
